NE1 FM - The programming comences

Yesterday was the third (I think) meeting of the NE1 FM programming committee. The first item in the agenda, and the only thing on the agenda was to create the initial NE1 FM launch schedule. The team included some of the usual suspects who posed for a picture or two.

We found the board to sketch out the scheduler on and found the the original City FM schedule on the back.

Unfortunately Dan forgot some of the paperwork, well most of the paper work, okay, all of the paper work so we had some time to kill. We could have dome some work but instead decided it would be a better idea to play table tennis. We had a table and a ball, but had to improvise with dustpans.
The schedule was a bit of a mind bender to put together as it needs to take account of keeping the schedule comfortable for the listener while taking account of presenter availability and available support and supervision. It is fare to say that programmes were moved around a lot and some are being asked to include various features.

We were not the only ones hard at work in the building as in the CBIT office the marketing teem were hard at work.

In the end we had the initial schedule from 7pm to close in place. The "Open Slot" is not shown on this schedule as this is allocated on a "Round Robin" approach. Also we do have a supervision and support problem in the day so not all the 35 hours remaining will be scheduled initially, but we hope to have a solution for this in the near future. If you are willing and able to help in the day then please let us know.

Everyone who has provisionally been allocated a show should not have been emailed. We will be contacting everyone who did not make the initial schedule with some feedback. Remember that this schedule will only be for the first 6 weeks and will be refined.
